Weirdness

I do not understand
Why being called weird is an insult.
Weird means different,
If we weren't different,
We would all be the same.
Why would you want to be someone else?
Why is it bad to be yourself?
Some people may think it's flattering to have people copy them,
But it's just creepy and sad.
You can't be different if everyone is copying you.
Being yourself means your different,
Being different means your weird.
So I ask again,
Why is being weird an insult?
I take it as a compliment.
Others should, too.
